Arizona ORFF- April 22, 2017

I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Arizona ORFF conference this past weekend and what I learned there really got me in touch with the music education community! To be completely honest, I wasn’t looking forward to going mainly because it was a Saturday morning and it was about 45 minutes away from where I live. But, I’m really glad I got to go because the people there were awesome and I was able to see things we did in the classroom done with a bunch of music teachers. We spent our day doing activities like the ones we did in class, and that was extremely cool to be a part of! Rob Amchin gave us all really great idea on how we can incorporate the activities we did into our own classrooms. For example, one of the activities was coming up with rhythms from color names and we spent close to 30 minutes creating complex rhythm pattern just with the names from some color strips he took from home depot. It was a really cool opportunity and I’m so glad I went.
